Full form of NPR

In the year 2004, section 14A of the Citizenship Act 1955 was amended. Accordingly, it is mandatory for every citizen of the country to register in the National Register. The National Register of Indian Citizens is a national data. 

The creation of the National Population Register (NPR) is the first step towards preparing NRIC. NPR will be used to verify citizenship. 

Therefore it is mandatory for all ordinary citizens to register under NPR. NPR's full form is the National Population Register.

Proposal To Add New Information To NPR

The government is preparing to update the National Population Register. The government has to collect complete census data by 2021, due to which the cabinet meeting is being organized from time to time on the National Population Register. The NPR will ask for 15 information from residents of India and update the census database.

Name of the person for NPR, his relationship with the head of the family. Their parent's name, marital status, spouse name, marriage, place of birth, citizenship, current address, length of stay at address, permanent address, occupation, and educational status will also have to be reported. Apart from this, some other things can be asked like information related to passport, driving license and Aadhaar can also be asked. Along with this, it will also be asked, where you are staying, are you staying there for six months and is there a possibility of staying for another 6 months.
